This impressive hand-painted icon of the Holy  Virgin of Tenderness was created with deep respect to the Orthodox tradition and precise masterly technique.

The icon represents the Holy Virgin, depicted frontally in close-up image, in a static and noble pose, typical for sacred Byzantine painting.

Her face is softly shaped, with fine idealized features.

The head of the Holy Virgin is covered with a mantle of deep dark blue color, symbolizing her heavenly chastity.

Her robe is richly ornamented with silver filigree motifs that shine softly on the blue fabric - delicate leaves, floral spirals and fine geometric decorations, characteristic for the decorative language of the Italian Masters of the Pre-Renaissance epocha.

The background of the icon is golden and radiant, reflecting the light with a soft warm glow.
