This impressive hand-painted icon was created with deep respect to the Orthodox tradition and precise masterly technique. 

The icon depicts the majestic scene of the Nativity of Christ, filled with deep symbolism and a rich spiritual atmosphere. It is painted on a wooden board, the upper part of which is decorated with fine wood carving.

The carved pediment depicts two peacocks, located symmetrically on both sides of a cross - an ancient Christian symbol of eternal life and resurrection. The peacocks, looking at the cross, personify the immortality of the soul and faith in the Resurrection, and the exquisite carving gives the icon a feeling of solemn harmony and heavenly beauty.

Under the carved ornament are painted angels, who look with reverence at the central scene of the Nativity. Their faces are illuminated by a soft, divine radiance, and their gaze is directed towards the Christ Child lying in the manger.

In the center of the composition is the Holy Virgin, depicted in peace and humility, with her hand directed towards the Child — a gesture of blessing and maternal love. Next to her stands Saint Joseph, lost in thought. Around her are the shepherds, kneeling in worship. Above the cave shines the Star of Bethlehem, and the sky is open — a symbol of God's presence and favor towards people.

The entire icon is executed in warm earthy tones, with expressive details and a smooth transition between the heavenly and the earthly. The scene combines the iconographic rigor of the Orthodox tradition with exquisite decorativeness in the woodcarving, which envelops the composition like a wreath of glorification.

The rich silver background is particularly impressive, as the halos and the boards of the icon that are made with pure 24-karat water gilding, which symbolizes the Divine light and heavenly glory. The gold gives depth and radiance to the icon and turns it into an artistic masterpiece.
