Icon "Holy Virgin of Tenderness" - hand-painted with silver and 24-karat gilding
This impressive hand-painted icon of the Holy Virgin of Tenderness was created with deep respect to the Orthodox tradition and precise masterly technique. The face of the Holy Mother of God is depicted with an expression of infinite maternal love - she is presented with a bowed head and a gentle gaze, radiating humility and inner peace.
The icon is painted on a
40-year-old mulberry board, prepared in a traditional way with linen
canvas and several layers of natural primer.
The surface is treated
to create an authentic patina and imitation of the destruction characteristic
of the ancient original – loss of paint layers, slight peeling and darkening of
the colors, which give a sense of holiness and centuries-old antiquity to the
icon.
The rich silver
background is particularly impressive, as the halos that are made with pure 24-karat gilding, which symbolizes the Divine light and heavenly glory. The
gold gives depth and radiance to the icon and turns it into an artistic masterpiece.
The icon is hand-painted by a professional iconographer in the spirit of traditional Bulgarian icon painting. The specific of the authentic technology and the original techniques for working with egg tempera, silver and gold have been preserved.
