Home iconostasis "Holy  Virgin of Vladimir" - hand-painted with 23-karat burnished gilding

The Holy Virgin of Vladimir, also known as Our Lady of Vladimir, is a 12th-century Byzantine icon depicting the Virgin and Child. It is an early example of the Eleousa iconographic type and one of the most culturally significant and celebrated pieces of art in Russian history. The icon was painted by an unknown artist most likely in Constantinople. It was sent to Kiev as a gift before being transferred to the Assumption Cathedral in Vladimir.

This impressive hand-painted icon of the Holy  Virgin of Vladimir was created with deep respect to the Orthodox tradition and precise masterly technique. The face of the Holy Mother of God is depicted with an expression of infinite maternal love - she is presented with a bowed head and a gentle gaze, radiating humility and inner peace.

The rich silver background is particularly impressive, as the halos that are made with pure 23-karat water gilding, which symbolizes the Divine light and heavenly glory. The gold gives depth and radiance to the icon and turns it into an artistic masterpiece.
